Collections Of The Oklahoma City Museum Of Art
The Oklahoma City Museum of Art maintains several different collections of art. The permanent collection features important works of American, European, and Post-War and Contemporary Art. The OKCMOA is home to one of the world’s largest collections of Dale Chihuly’s modern glass art. His 55-foot tall Eleanor Blake Kirkpatrick Memorial Tower welcomes visitors from its dramatic street-side atrium near the front entrance. Chihuly’s work includes gorgeous glass orbs, bowls, sculptures, organic-inspired blown glass tendrils, and drawings. The museum first hosted Chihuly’s art in 2002. Oklahoma City fell in love with Chihuly’s work, leading the museum to purchase the collection in 2004. It’s been on display ever since.
